Crossway is and always will be a people devoted to exploring our faith, growing a deeper understanding of God’s word, and striving to make lasting connections with people from all walks of life.
As a diverse family of believers with our own messy lives and backstories, we love unconditionally and accept you just as you are. We don’t pretend to have all the answers, rather we work to guide you towards answers and walk with you each step of the way.
God Is the Eternal Creator of all that exists, He is the one and only true God of all. The Eternal Creator God is singular yet exists and functions in three distinct and unified persons; God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Jesus the Christ is the Son of God fully equal in nature with God the Father, Jesus came to earth as a human. He lived, taught, and did amazing miraculous works demonstrating that He is the Son of God. And His ultimate mission in coming was to give His life as a ransom to pay the penalty for the sins of the whole world.
The Holy Spirit is given as an indwelling presence to those who trust in Jesus as Lord and Savior. The purpose of the Holy Spirit is to empower, equip, and encourage Jesus’ followers to become more like Him and to make a difference in the world by their love and service to bring Him glory.
Whether you’ve never heard of Jesus before, or might have had a negative experience with a church, or something in between; we work to meet you where you are and walk with you towards Christ. Crossway is a spiritual hospital, a haven for those who are hurting and seeking answers to life’s challenges. The Gospel saves everyone who obeys it from their heart. The Gospel is the story of Jesus’ atoning death for the sins of all humanity. It is the story of his Burial and Resurrection which reinforces Jesus’ claim and promise to save us all through His grace which secures our hope for eternal life in his name.
Baptism is an act of obedient faith in which the Power of Salvation is received by God’s grace through our faith in Jesus. There is no work, accomplishment, or effort on our part that can ever release us from the guilt of our sin. The only power that saves is found in the blood of Jesus. Faith allows us to receive that power. However faith is more than just a “feeling in our heart” or an “agreement of the truth in our mind.” Faith is a trusting obedience to God’s command expressed when we repent of our sins, confess Jesus as Lord, and submit to baptism by immersion in water to receive forgiveness of our sins.
“Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus, were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.” Romans 6:3-4
The Church is the Body of Christ, the Bride of Christ, the Temple of the Holy Spirit, and the Family of God. God’s people gather to worship Him, to find encouragement, to live by faith, and to be equipped to love and serve one another and the world.
We believe our God-given gifts and talents are best used serving the individuals and families within our local community by ministering to the needs of people, outreach and sharing the love of Christ with our neighbors.
Q: Does Crossway have a youth group with opportunities for my kids to be involved with activities?
A: Yes we do! It’s hard to believe that given our young age as a congregation that we would have such a vibrant and active group of teenagers and young children, but we have been blessed with so many talented members of our family. We continue to grow in numbers every week!
Q: What are the people like?
A: We have been blessed to have a broad sprectrum of people join our church family—we have single people, senior aged people, young families, teenagers, and children of all ages. Our culture is very warm and welcoming. Our church loves the fact that we are worshipping in a “barn” which adds to the casual down-to-earth spirit of our people.
Q: Does Crossway offer opportunities for small groups?
A: Small groups exist as a way for people to engage in a biblical community that helps them become more like Jesus in every area of their lives. We have numerous small groups located throughout the footprint of surrounding communities (McKinney, Celina, Anna, Melissa, Van Alstyne, Gunter and beyond). The make-up of our groups vary from young families, young and older couples, single adults, young professionals, etc.
Q: Why do the Lord’s Supper every Sunday?
A: Various churches have different views on the frequency in which Christians should participate in a communion service. For some it’s once a quarter, for others it’s a bi-monthly observance and for many it’s every week. There are a number of verses throughout the New Testament that describe the how, why and when on this important event with our time of worship: Matthew 26:26-29, Mark 14:22-25, Luke 22:14-20, Acts 2:42-46, Acts 20:6-7, I Corinthians 11:17-34, I Corinthians 16:2. Based on the overall truths as evidenced in scripture, as well as the historical documentation collected throughout the first two centuries of early church practices, please visit for more information.
